Heart of America Golf Course

  Heart of America Golf Course is a very nice golf course but it is only nine holes. My friend's dad is the head golf pro there which is a good connection to go and play there. This course is kind of in the middle of nowhere in my opinion. It is tucked away in between the KC zoo and a forest. I like this course because it is shorter, easier and can play it a little faster twice than any where else. I went to this course to get lessons and was treated very well and it actually helped me progress as a high school golfer. I would recommend going to this place if you are looking for lessons because they know what they are doing and it can actually improve your skills quicker.  This course is cheap which is easier for families to go and play together. I really enjoy playing this course with my friend when he invites me out there. I always take that opportunity to try and beat his dad who is really good. Lions Gate Golf and Country Club

  Lions Gate Golf and Country Club is a very expensive and private club for very wealthy families and individuals. I had the opportunity to practice there once a week for a few month during the golf season and it was a very difficult place to play. This course does accept guests rates if you are not a member there. If you are a good golfer or know any good golfer, they would probably know what this place is. It is a state known course because there are some very high tournaments that played here by the PGA. This course is a very expensive place to play at. The members there take there golfing there very seriously and always follow the golfing etiquette which can annoying sometimes.  Lions Gate is located in Overland Park, KS. Iron Horse Golf course

  Iron Horse golf course is a half private half public golf course. That means you can buy a membership there but it is only for golf. If you chose to play it as a non member you will have to pay a high price. I have played Iron Horse multiple times when I was starting out in my early stages of competitive golf. In my opinion I don't think there is a harder course in Kansas. I have always struggled which makes it fun and really annoying at the same time.  If you are looking to try and get into golf I would suggest that you stay away from this course. Most courses try to get you not to play there because of the price it is to play. This is one of those courses.   If you are going to start golfing, I usually go to this course to see my progression, but never play there for fun. Shawnee Golf And Country Club

  Shawnee Golf and Country Club is a private club that only allows members to be apart of there establishment. My family and I are members here and it is not as expensive as you think. A family membership can cost around $4,000 and that includes unlimited to everything they offer. Unlimited Golf is the main reason I go. The golf rate to play if you are not a member is higher than if I were to go somewhere public and play. I have plenty of friends here which allows me to play here all the time. I still invite my friends out to come play but they always complain the price, which is understandable.  If you have a large family I would recommend this place because it has a lot and mostly the same amount of amenities as other country clubs but at a fraction of the cost. The golf course itself is very difficult. If you are a beginner and ever decide to go out here I would recommend that you change your mind because this course might make you want to quit. Heritage Park Golf Course

  Heritage Park golf course is a very lovely golf course. It a wide variety of things to do around it. There is plenty of trail to walk around the golf course and even in the golf course. Heritage Park is a very long golf course. I have played many rounds out at heritage park and I have walked it multiple times and it is always a struggle to try and finish because I felt like I have walked 12 miles just to play golf. Other than it being such a long course, it is a very fun place to play. It is pretty wide open, so it is pretty easy to play even if you cannot hit it straight.  Heritage Park golf course is a course I am not the biggest fan of. Heritage Park golf course also allows the use of youth on course. Heritage has a very nice practice facility on there course. They have a small chipping area that is nine holes. St Andrews Golf Course

  St Andrews golf course is located in Overland Park along side 135th street. This is a very nice course. This golf course is typically very busy. It is a great course for new golfers to play. It is not that hard of a course. St Andrews golf course is much more unique than any other golf course. St Andrews has a driving range that is open till 10pm during the summer time. The driving range is very useful to anyone who is looking to get better at golf. It is also a really fun activity to do at night with your friends. To buy a bucket of golf balls is not that expensive but they also have a driving range membership that can allow you to get as many balls you want in a month.  St Andrews has a similar price range as Sykes. St Andrews only has 18 holes. They offer a youth on course, which allows a five dollar rate to anyone under the age of 18. Sykes Lady Golf Course

Sykes lady golf course is located in Overland Park. This is a nice golf course and I would suggest this place to anyone who is looking into golf. Sykes Lady golf course has three different nine hole courses attached to it. I personally think the third nine is the best because it is away from the crowded area of the golf course and it is not a difficult golf course. Sykes Lady golf course is among one of many courses that is on the cheaper side. It is a public course and with as many golf courses it has, Sykes Lady has a cheaper golfing rate. This allows many people with a wide variety of skill to golf there. That is what I like about Sykes Lady.
